Around First Lutheran Church
April 2008
Vol. 08, No. 4
Rev. Gilbert H. Pingel, Pastor
Robert Meyer, President, Congregation
Mission Statement:
First Lutheran Church exists for the purpose of gathering new disciples
for the kingdom of God, growing in faithful
discipleship and glorifying God the
Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
GREETINGS FROM PASTOR!
Greetings,
Let me begin by
saying “Thank you.” Thank you to all who worked at the camp on the 22nd,
and thank you to all who worked on the church
grounds on the 17th and the 29th. Your work really helped to improve the
grounds, and indicated good stewardship of our properties.
On the 1st
of April we will welcome Katie Wilson as our choir director. We are pleased
to have Katie leading the choir, and having two people
serving as
organist and choir director makes for a very good working relationship. We
worship our Lord with our music, and are pleased our
musical
leadership is in the capable hands of Katie and Dan.
This April
will seem a little different with having no part of Lent or Easter during
this month. It will still remain a busy month. The Call
Committee is
continuing its work. VBS plans are well underway. The confirmation class
will be working on the statements they will read
during our
worship on the 27th in anticipation of confirmation on May
4th. Life in our Risen Lord continues every day.
The beginning
of April means we are into the second quarter of the year already. That
means if you are on schedule with offerings 25% of
your
consecrated pledge to your Lord will be at work in His mission and
ministry. We will get the statements out this month for you to see
how you are
doing in supporting the Lord’s work.
April is a
good month to be an ambassador and recruiter for students for Belvoir
Christian Academy. We are always eager to have students
whom we can
train in discipleship for the Lord Jesus Christ while we provide a solid
academic education. Be sure and tell anyone who is
looking for a
good school for their children to definitely visit BCA.
In
Christ,
Pastor Pingel
